The first ever, all Asian semi-final was set up at the Olympics in South Korea - featuring home crowd favourites the ‘Garlic Girls’ – Korea’s EunJung Kim – against Japan’s Team Satsuki Fujisawa. In an extra-end, Kim needed to draw to the four-foot to seal her country an Olympic medal. With the crowd roaring on their feet, encouraging not two, but three sweepers, they dragged the winning stone far enough to make the Olympic final.
